Who Is Lisa Fisher?

Lisa Fisher was a backup singer for Luther Vandross. They were in a group together in the early days of their career. The name of the group was Change. Lisa has an awesome voice which rivals any of the current day R&B singers. Besides Luther Vandross, Lisa has sung backup for Tina Turner and the Rolling Stones. Her solo project was an album entitled So Intense. Her Grammy winning single on that album was  How Can I Ease The Pain. This song shows off her vocal range and her vocal strengths. Judge for yourself:

Music today has really changed. With the exception of a few artists, we no longer experience real singing. Let's hope that real music is resurrected soon.

Chris Brown at the BET Awards

Chris Brown performed at the BET Awards. His performance tribute to Michael Jackson was awesome. His dancing was sheer perfection. His dancing skills are the closest to Michael Jacksons' that I have ever seen. The most touching part of his performance was when he began to sing Man in the Mirror. Chris was so overcome with emotion that he could not perform the song but the audience was there to help him out....  Awesome job Chris !!! For those who have not seen his performance, check out this clip from the BET Awards on Sunday.

Michael Jackson ForeverThe King

There are many days when we hear the current music being played and realize that we have lost one of the greatest entertainer ever. No other artist can compare to the incomparable Michael Jackson. When Michael Jackson was scheduled to perform, everyone was filled with excitement and anticipation. You couldn't wait to see this man do what he was born to do. Michael Jackson was a visionary, a musical genius who transcended race, color, creed and ethnicity. His music was pure and uplifting.

One of Michaels' songs asks the question Will You Be There? For a lot of Michaels' so called friends when he needed them the most, the answer was a resounding "No". It seems that Michael Jackson had a lot of fair weather friends and a lot of leaches and when it looked as if Michael Jackson was going down and would not be of use to them, they all scattered like rats. The shame of it all is that Michael Jackson would give away all he had (and it seems that he did) to help anyone who needed his help. His generosity was unmeasurable.

Heaven was missing an angel.......... but the angel is missing no anymore.

African Black Soap

African Black Soap is a skin care phenomenon. It is all the rage lately and touted as the "8th wonder of the cleansing world" and  for valid reasons. African Black Soap is a miracle worker for a myriad of skin problems like acne, rashes, eczema, blemishes, and other skin problems. This product is so great, it also cleanses the pores and it also has a very pleasant aroma, it's not overpowering

African Black Soap is made in West Africa from a number of pure organic ingredients including palm oil and plantain leaves. The one thing I found with this soap is that it leaves the skin a little dry. Due to this, you have to be sure to use a moisturizer to
combat the dryness.

You can find African Black Soap being sold on the streets of New York by native African street vendors but if you don't live in the New York Area you can always get African Black Soap

I'm Wishing On A Star

I just watched a video by the band Rose Royce. The song was I'm Wishing On A Star. AWESOME !!!!!!

After doing some research, I found out that this band's first three albums each sold over 1 million copies and had 6 top 10 hits. These hits included Car Wash from the Car Wash: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. The other hits were I'm Going Down which was covered by Mary J Blige on her My Life CD. There was also
I Want to Get Next to you and Love Don't Live Here Anymore, which was covered by Madonna. I loved this song. This music had haunting percussion infused with hypnotizing keyboards, instruments and lead vocals. The video shows the group singing this song. Judge for yourself.

Rose Royce was a classic R&B group that originated in the early 70's but their music is current today and can be found sampled by a lot of artists.

Playing professional basketball overseas

Becoming a professional basketball player and making a lot of money is a dream shared by thousands of young kids, boys as well as girls. These boys and girls grow up to be high school and college athletes with one goal and that is to get into the NBA. The chances of the majority of these athletes making it into the NBA are very slim. The chances of winning the lottery is greater than making it in professional basketball.

There is, however, a chance of playing professional basketball overseas. The reason is that professional basketball is now a universal sport and is loved worldwide from Asia to Zimbabwe. Professional basketball players are now household names overseas not just NBA players but WNBA players as well.

I found an ecourse for athletes who are interested in playing professional basketball overseas tips on how to get attention from teams overseas.

I also found a  video of professional basketball player Eddy Curry talking about the benefits of playing professional basketball overseas.

Michael Jackson.... The Man in the Mirror

While browsing in my local Walmart today I stumbled upon a basket of Michael Jackson memorabilia. I found a dog tag which I think is really cute.

There were also bracelets and buttons. You can either wear these or add them to your collection.

The price was not bad either. The items were between $2 and $5 dollars. If you're a diehard Michael Jackson fan, head on over to your local Walmart to take advantage of these items. They can be added to your collection of items from the Greatest Entertainer that ever lived....

Hope for Haiti

After seeing the devastation leveled on Haiti due to the earthquake, hope for the future is what I have for the Haitian nation. My heart is filled with compassion and hope that we as a nation can come together as one to help our fellow man.

The look of despair, anguish, hopelessness and grief etched on the faces of the survivors tugs at even the most hardened of hearts. The death toll is unbelievable and the injured survivors are many. We see injured babies, children trapped under rubble for days on end, others facing amputation of their limbs due to inadequate medical care.

There is little or no food and clean drinking water. Anything that we can do to help this nation will not be in vain. There are many ways to help. We can donate money or our time. I have made a donation and plan to do more.

If you want to donate, you can go to http://www.hopeforhaitinow.org/ or you can call 1-877-99-HAITI. There are many other organizations where you can donate your time or money. you can go to the United Nations website or CNN.com, the Red Cross for more information.

When I think of how bad some of my days are, it does not compare to what the Haitian people have to endure. This puts our complaints into perspective.
